Cloud Computing

Science Technology Services is pleased to offer On-Premise Cloud-based computing resources to the Faculty of Science to support teaching and research.

To request resources, please login to our Helpdesk ticketing system and enter the details for your request.

• Supporting teaching needs or research projects in the Faculty of Science.
• Students must be under the supervision of a Faculty or Staff Member.
• We have limited resources, so you need to explain and justify how much RAM and CPU cores you will require.
• All requests must have an end date -- typically one term for teaching-related requests or one-two years for research projects.
• We offer Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu Server as Linux-based operating systems.
• We offer command-line shell-based access to systems, NOT graphical desktops.
• Due to Licensing costs and restrictions, requests for Windows-based servers are exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Unfortunately GPU resources are not availabe.
• We also do not have the resources to support HPC (High Performance Computing).

• Database server for a research project.
• Web front-end to a thesis software project.
• Short-term need for 128GB of ram to test bottlenecks in a research project
